The Business Head will serve as a strategic leader responsible for driving the studio’s growth trajectory by integrating market intelligence, operational efficiency, client strategy, and revenue acceleration. This is a pivotal role designed for professionals with deep insights into how high-performing design studios function—both creatively and commercially.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Understanding & Competitive Intelligence
- Conduct in-depth interactions with senior architects, designers, and BD professionals to understand evolving industry dynamics.
- Analyze competitor studio models, revenue mechanisms, team structures, execution workflows, and client servicing benchmarks.
- Identify whitespace and opportunity areas where Chalk Studio can differentiate and win.
2. Business Strategy & Revenue Planning
- Develop scalable growth strategies aligned with Chalk Studio’s vision and design ethos.
- Identify and drive high-potential partnerships and collaborations.
- Create revenue targets and strategic roadmaps to achieve them quarter-on-quarter.
- Build systems to improve lead qualification, conversion, and client lifecycle value.
3. Studio Operations & Execution Oversight
- Audit and refine existing studio workflows to increase efficiency, reduce redundancy, and ensure on-time delivery.
- Create SOPs for inquiry handling, pitching, costing, and post-sale follow-up.
- Establish clear accountability structures across design, BD, and execution teams.
- Introduce performance dashboards to monitor progress and proactively address bottlenecks.
4. Team Collaboration & Mentorship
- Work closely with the founders and department heads to drive cross-functional synergy.
- Mentor design and BD associates, strengthening client engagement and ownership.
- Create frameworks for upskilling team members in soft skills, presentation, and project ownership.
5. Client Relations & Brand Building
- Develop and manage high-value client relationships, both institutional and individual.
- Represent Chalk Studio at key networking forums, industry events, and B2B platforms.
- Collaborate with marketing to refine brand positioning and pitch strategies.
- Oversee proposal writing, negotiations, and business closure processes.
Skills
Who You Are
- A senior design or BD professional with 10–15 years of experience in architecture, interiors, or a creative business leadership role.
- Deeply networked in the A&D (architecture & design) community.
- Experienced in leading studio transformation projects or building business units from scratch.
- Analytical and commercially sharp, with an eye for design and detail.
- An excellent communicator with a leadership style that is collaborative, assertive, and empowering.
